Cardboard Shield 10/6/22

Hello! For this week I have made a cardboard shield. It looks simple to make but I wanted to make a grip for it. Making the shield is simple. What’s hard about it is the grip. I was told to layer the shield (make another copy of it and sandwich them together.) I then made…

Laser Cutting Props 9/30/22

Hello! I have made some props in the shop today. I created a DXF file of sword on Fusion and then laser cut it. I plan to make an ax and use these props for Halloween!

Sewing and Turning 9/28/22

Hello! This week I learned how to use the sewing machine and the lathe. I planned to use the sewing machine to create a pillow for my tool that I created from the week before. A good thing about the sewing machine was that Joao, my classmate, knows how to operate it. Unfortunately we are…

Stool Assembly

I finished cutting out the stool. I needs to be polished a bit and sanded down but it’s sturdy and it can hold up to three people! I will need to get a seat pillow for this but in all the project is finished.

Cutting out the Stool

This week I finally got to cut out the stool pieces out of wood on the CNC router. Mr. L. told me to tape the bed of the CNC Router to prevent air from escaping when cutting. After I did that Mr. L taught me how to slot in the bit for the router. Unfortunately…

Cardboard Stool Draft

I have made significant progress on the CNC stool project! Surprisingly it’s very easy to model on Fusion. I looked up a video on how to do singlets and I added those onto my project. Apparently the CNC machine cannot cut inner corners because the bit head for it is rounded. Thusly I needed to…

Bin Name Tag

Before I start making the stool I decided to create new bin tags for our, well bins! I created the name tag on inkscape. It’s a good refresher on how to use the laser cutter. This project is also a good refresher on how to engrave and cut things on the laser cutter.

Senior Year Start

Hello! Summer Vacation is over and now it’s back to school. This year I’ll be a senior so this one will be my last year at MHS. It’s back to work at the MHS Robotics Shop. I plan to learn how to use the big CNC machine in the shop. I am going to make…

A little Summer Break

Hello all! It’s nearing the end of my junior year and although I have nearly completed my digital clock project I have hit a roadblock. The display is supposed to light up, but it isn’t. I at first thought it was a PWR and GND issue because I wired two different power sources connecting to…

PCB for Digital Clock

Hello! I have now started to create designs for my PCB This is the first schematic for my PCB. I cut it out and tried to make it display the digital clock but unfortunately it didn’t work. I think the reason on why it doesn’t display anything is because there is no power going into…
